It was mentioned in the openstreetmap irc  channel a few days ago:

The NIMA (National Imagery and Mapping Agency of USA) have a 2003 map of Baghdad, which we&#039;re pretty sure is public domain (although there is a &quot;copyright 2003 US Government&quot; notice on it - it also says  &quot;no copyright claimed under title 17 U.S.C.&quot; )
